The event was graced by the mayors of Taipei City, Chiang Wan-An, and New Taipei City, Hou Yu-Ih. The theme song MV was premiered, with Golden Melody Award-winning indigenous singer Kasiwa performing the theme song “Non Stop“ live. The organizers also unveiled a signature promotional gesture for the World Masters Games named “Non Stop”, demonstrated on stage by both mayors, to foster nationwide engagement in promoting the 2025 World Masters Games. With 311 days until the official launch of the World Masters Games 2025 Taipei & New Taipei City, this event aims to spread the themes of “sports for all” and “lifelong sports”, leveraging the universal appeal of pop music. The event concluded with music director Eric Chen presenting the “World Masters Games - Dream Cup”, symbolizing the realization of dreams. He invited Kasiwa and the mayors of Taipei and New Taipei to join him on stage for a ceremonial toast with Taiwanese high mountain tea, wishing for the resounding success of next year's event.
The official release of “Non Stop” energized the audience with its upbeat rhythm and inspiring lyrics about the bold pursuit of dreams. Taipei City Mayor Chiang Wan-An spoke about the crucial role of community support for this global sporting event and highlighted how pop music can enhance participation. For this project, Chen enlisted rapper producer MCKY and selected Golden Melody Award-winning indigenous singer Kasiwa as the lead vocalist. Chen believes that Kasiwa’s music, filled with passion and strength, uniquely incorporates Taiwan's indigenous languages, showcasing the originality and passion of Taiwanese music to international audiences. Kasiwa, the winner of the Jury Prize and Best Indigenous Singer at the 34th Golden Melody Awards, expressed his honor in performing the theme song for this international sporting event. The song features lyrics in Chinese, English, and indigenous languages, aiming to blend international appeal with Taiwanese characteristics.
The World Masters Games 2025 Taipei & New Taipei City is the largest global sports event that combines culture, tourism, and international exchange. Held for the first time in Asia, the World Masters Games 2025 invites athletes aged 30 and above from around the world to Taiwan to compete and foster international friendships through sports. The event will feature 35 sports, with registration open until February 17 of next year. To date, participants from 98 countries have signed up to compete.
